The Situation

Following a residential fire, our team was engaged to safely demolish and remove a fire-damaged shed located at the rear of a property. Due to the age of the structure and the extent of the damage, works were required urgently to comply with a council-issued emergency order.

The Challenge

As with many fire-damaged structures, the site contained hazardous materials that required careful management. The challenge was not only making the structure safe but also ensuring debris, soot and contamination were contained and did not impact the surrounding residential property.

The Solution

Before demolition commenced, a Division 6 asbestos clearance was completed to ensure the site was safe for works to proceed.

Once clearance was received, our team carefully demolished and removed the fire-damaged shed, including a damaged brick wall, to satisfy the requirements of the emergency order.

Throughout the project, protective coverings were installed across surrounding surfaces and access areas to prevent the spread of debris and contamination into unaffected parts of the property.

The Outcome

The structure was safely removed, the site was left clean and compliant, and the emergency order requirements were successfully met. Most importantly, the surrounding property was protected throughout the remediation process.
